Cutting-Edge Outdoor Kitchens
Have you ever visited an outdoor kitchen where you felt there was a lot left to be desired? Conversely, what about an outdoor kitchen where you felt every nuance of design and comfort was put into consideration? Here are a few tips and methods to help you achieve the latter.
WIND DIRECTION: Whether you are building a new outdoor kitchen with a new foundation and framing, or creating one on an existing foundation, cardinal direction and winds are always a major design consideration.
Typically, most designs want to take advantage of summer breezes while protecting themselves from the harsh winter north winds to maximize the comfort of the space. If at all possible, your design should have a solid wall or some type of barrier to the north of your space which will prevent those cold SWLA north winds from making your space unbearable
MOTORIZED SCREENS: If you’re looking to take your outdoor kitchen to the next level, motorized screens are a must-have for any cutting-edge design. Today’s motorized screens can help block your space from the glare of the sun and keep bugs and mosquitoes out. Motorized screens can provide privacy from neighbors or be raised to allow natural light and breeze into the space.
Full Vinyl motorized screens are great for keeping dust and debris out of your kitchen. Vinyl screens are also ideal for keeping heat in your outdoor living space. Vinyl screens are substantially more expensive than standard bug and sunscreens yet, they are a necessity for any high-end design, plus we love keeping our kitchen clean and shiny which is nearly impossible with an open wall design.
INFRARED HEATERS: No cutting-edge outdoor kitchen design would be complete without infrared heaters. Infrared heaters are the hands-down best way to keep your kitchen warm and cozy during those winter football gatherings.
Infrared heaters are typically installed with 240-volt electrical service (gas service units available upon request) and can be added to any existing space or design for a new build. Stop by our office and showroom at 5290 Common Street Suite B to see what type of Infratech infrared heaters fit your design best.
